§ The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Long)The number of flag officers, including commodores, on full pay on the 1st March, 1914, was sixty-six; and the number on the 1st November, 1919, was eight-seven. I may add that included in the latter figure are one rear-admiral and four commodores whose special or war appointments have since terminated, and six rear-admirals and three commodores whose similar appointments will be terminated shortly.
