HC Deb 19 November 1919 vol 121 cc902-3
23. Major BARKER

asked the Minister of Labour the number of municipalities and other public bodies which have not yet taken up the national scheme for the employment of disabled men?

Mr. WARDLE

The number of municipal and other public bodies which have given undertakings to employ disabled men in terms of the national scheme is 172. I cannot say how many of these bodies there are which have not given the undertaking, but I understand that many of them have the matter still under consideration, and I trust that in the near future the position will improve substantially.

Sir E. CARSON

How many of the 172 are in Ireland?

Mr. WARDLE

I cannot answer that without notice.
