HC Deb 17 November 1919 vol 121 cc586-7
11. Lieut.-Col. DALRYMPLE WHITE

asked the President of the Hoard of Trade whether he is aware that the uncertainty as to the continuance of the 33⅓ per cent, duty on imported foreign motor cars is hampering British motor manufacturers in their efforts to set up new and up-to-date machinery for the manufacture of motor cars; and if he will state what is the policy of the Government as to the continuance of this duty?

Sir A. GEDDES

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer which I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Barrow on the 12th November.
