HC Deb 06 November 1919 vol 120 cc1687-8
Mr. ADAMSON

I desire to ask the Leader of the House what business will be taken next week?

Mr. BONAR LAW

On Monday we propose to take the Industrial Courts Bill in Committee, and the Financial Resolutions on the Land Settlement (Scotland) Bill and the County Court Judges (Retirement Pensions and Deputies) Bill.

On Tuesday, the Agriculture and Fisheries (Councils, etc.) Bill, Second Reading, and further stages of the Financial Resolutions, if not already taken. No further business will be taken on Tuesday, with a view of meeting a request that we take as little as possible on that day, which is the 11th of November [Armistice Day].

On Wednesday, the Industrial Courts Bill, Report, and the completion of the Aliens Bill, if not already finished.

The business for Thursday I should like to- announce on Monday.

As regards Friday, if it be possible for this business to be got through, it might not be necessary to sit on that day. There will certainly be great congestion of business later in the Session as the Bills come from Standing Committees, and I am sure it will be the desire of this House not to sit on Friday, if that be not necessary.

Mr. BOTTOM LEY

Will the right hon. Gentleman give some regard to what, I believe, is the general feeling of the House, not to take the Third Reading of the Aliens Bill until some interval has elapsed after the Report stage?

Mr. BONAR LAW

If there is such a general feeling, I shall try to meet it.

Mr. G. TERRELL

When is it proposed to introduce the Anti-Dumping Bill and the Bills to deal with key industries and collapsed exchanges?

Mr. BONAR LAW

It was hoped to introduce it this week, but it has not been found possible to do so. We certainly anticipate introducing it next week.

Mr. TERRELL

And the other Bills to which I have referred?

Mr. BONAR LAW

Yes.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

May I ask whether the right hon. Gentleman will send me the answer to Question 53, which he regretted he could not give me during Question Time?

Mr. BONAR LAW

Certainly; and I will make inquiries also as to where the mistake occurred that the answer was not given
