HC Deb 06 November 1919 vol 120 c1654
17. Mr. NEIL MACLEAN

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland how many arrests have been made on political charges in Ireland since 1st May, 1916; and in how many cases convictions followed?

The ATTORNEY-GENERAL for IRELAND (Mr. Henry)

I would ask that the question should be postponed.

Captain WEDGWOOD BENN

In replying, would the right hon. Gentleman say how many charges were made under the Defence of the Realm Act and how many under the Crimes Act?

Mr. HENRY

I will do my best, but it is extremely difficult.
