HC Deb 28 May 1919 vol 116 c1224
77. Major DAVID DAVIES

asked whether, in the matter of promotion, any distinction is being drawn between officers of the old Regular Army and temporary officers of the New Army and the Territorial Force who have joined the Army of Occupation; and whether he intends to effect any alteration in the age of the retirement of officers?

Captain GUEST

In the Regulations proposed for the temporary promotion of officers in the Armies of Occupation, which are now under consideration by the Army Council, I understand that no distinction is drawn between officers of the old Regular Army and those of the New Army and the Territorial Force. There is no present intention of altering the age limits now in force for the compulsory retirement of officers of the Regular Army.
