HC Deb 26 May 1919 vol 116 c816
29. Major Sir B. FALLE

asked why the censorship of letters, etc., is still continued in the Islands of Jersey and Guernsey?

Mr. FORSTER

I have been asked to answer this question. So long as censorship continues in the United Kingdom, so long is it necessary to continue the censorship in the Channel Islands. The mails which are subject to censorship there are examined under the same Regulations as apply to similar mails to and from the United Kingdom.

Mr. BILLING

Is it proposed to abolish the censorship on the signing of Peace?

Mr. FORSTER

I hope it may be possible to abolish the censorship as soon as the blockade ceases.
