HC Deb 26 May 1919 vol 116 cc826-7
Mr. KENNEDY JONES

(by Private Notice) asked the Leader of the House whether his attention had been called to the practically unanimous wish of the London and Greater London Members, representative of all parties, that a Select Committee should be at once appointed to investigate the grave congestion in the existing means of transport in the Metropolitan area, together with the persistent increase in fares, and to make recommendations for immediate improvement, either by way of legislation or otherwise; and whether the Government is prepared to give effect to the proposal?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I have discussed this matter with the Ministers concerned. I hope that the work of a Select Committee on this subject will be useful, and I propose to set it up immediately.
