HC Deb 20 May 1919 vol 116 c180
9. Major Earl WINTERTON

asked the Secretary for War if he is aware that some discontent is being caused among officers and other ranks of British prisoners of war returned from Turkey at the slowness in bringing to justice the Turkish officers and civilians who were responsible for gross brutality to British prisoners in Turkey; and if he can make a statement on the subject?

Captain GUEST

I am not in a position to make a statement at present, but I may say that certain "black lists" have been presented to the Turkish Government, and a further communication on the matter is now awaited from the military authorities in Constantinople.
