HC Deb 20 May 1919 vol 116 c172
4. Colonel ASHLEY

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the fact that the sum of £7,500, which is allocated each year to be distributed in annuities to recipients of the Meritorious Service Medal, is no longer adequate, in view of the great number of men who have received this medal during the War, he will consider an increase of this amount, so as to obviate the great delay which now exists before a candidate for the medal receives his gratuity?

Mr. FORSTER

This question will not be lost sight of in the general review now in progress.

Colonel ASHLEY

Will the Government bear in mind, in view of the great number of meritorious medals now in existence, there is a very poor chance of anyone getting one?

Mr. FORSTER

That will be kept in view.
