HC Deb 20 May 1919 vol 116 c208
Major Earl WINTERTON

(by Private Notice) asked whether any action has been taken against any person or persons resident in the Imperial Hotel, who have been issuing circulars, on behalf of an organisation calling itself the Egyptian Association, reflecting on the honour of our troops in Egypt?

Captain GUEST

In consequence of the circulation of documents containing a number of mendacious statements concerning the conduct of British troops in Egypt, search was made yesterday afternoon by the police at the Imperial Hotel in a room rented by an Egyptian. Copies of a number of such documents were seized, and are now being considered by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr. JOYNSON-HICKS

Was anybody found there—any Egyptian?

Captain GUEST

No arrests were made.
