§ 80. Mr. BETTERTONasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Shipping Controller whether he will state the output from British yards of mercantile tonnage for each month since the Armistice, and how it compares with the corresponding months of 1917–18?
Colonel WILSONThe total gross tonnage of merchant vessels of all sizes completed in the six months November, 1918, to April, 1919, was 551,620; for the corresponding months of 1917–18 the total was 703,125. I am circulating in the OFFICIAL REPORT a statement of the output for each month.
