HC Deb 19 May 1919 vol 116 c16
26. Mr. SPOOR

asked the Secretary for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that the British Censor has during the last six months retained the copies of the Danish "Social Democraten" which have been sent from Denmark to subscribers in, the Faroe Islands, whereas the Censor allows non-Socialist papers to be delivered; and whether this practice will be stopped at once?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

No copies of the paper in question, dispatched from Denmark to the Faroe Islands, have been detained by the British Censor since 1st January, 1919. Any copies that may have been detained before that date were not detained on the ground of the paper being a Socialist organ.
