HC Deb 19 May 1919 vol 116 c15
24. Colonel YATE

asked the Secretary for India whether his attention has been drawn to the commendation bestowed by the Viceroy on the work of the Central Publicity Board in India now being closed; and whether, considering the good work performed by that board in spreading the truth in India during the War, arrangements can be made for its continuance although the War has now ceased?

Mr. PARKER

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The Central Publicity Board was formed to give the people of India correct information as to the War; and now that peace is in sight its functions are at an end.
