HC Deb 15 May 1919 vol 115 cc1763-4
72. Major PRESCOTT

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether, in view of the State subsidising the housing schemes of local authorities and public utility societies, he will consider the advisability of appointing supervisors so as to prevent the carrying out of unauthorised deviations of housing schemes approved by the Director-General of Housing, and to ensure that the Grants from the National Exchequer are expended according to the directions and regulations of the Board?

Major ASTOR

The Director-General of Housing has given attention to the question. If necessary, the local commissioners' staffs will be strengthened.
