HC Deb 15 May 1919 vol 115 cc1759-60
56. Mr. ROSE

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the serious character of the Report of the Auditor-General on the transactions of the Ministry of Munitions, any measures are decided upon or in contemplation for punishing and exposing dishonest contractors and for removing from the public service the officials who can be shown to have been responsible for these defalcations?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of MUNITIONS (Mr. Kellaway)

In accordance with the procedure laid down by Parliament, the Comptroller and Auditor-General's Report is under consideration by the Public Accounts Committee. When that Committee has reported to the House any necessary action will be taken.
