HC Deb 15 May 1919 vol 115 c1740
11. Mr. SHORT

asked the Pensions Minister whether he is aware that Sergeant S. Cooper, No. 18134, North Staffords, of 79, Foley Street, Wednesbury, has had his life pension stopped and called upon to refund £14 15s at 1s per week; whether Cooper has over thirty years' service to his credit; and whether he will cause inquiry to be made with a view to Sergeant Cooper receiving redress?

The MINISTER of PENSIONS (Sir Laming Worthington-Evans)

I am informed that Sergeant Cooper is still drawing his life pension. When he was awarded a "service" pension in addition to a disablement grant, it was found that an adjustment had to be made in the amount of the disablement gratuity previously awarded, and the overpayment is being recovered at the rate of 1s. a week.
