HC Deb 13 May 1919 vol 115 c1430
45. Brigadier-General COLVIN

asked the Prime Minister whether, in order to afford assistance to farmers and others, telephone systems which have been erected by the military authorities during the War may remain in districts where they are required and be converted for civilian use?

The ASSISTANT POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Pike Pease)

My right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. The question whether wires erected by or for the naval or military authorities during the War will be useful for civilian purposes is being considered before such wires are recovered.
