HC Deb 08 May 1919 vol 115 c1207
Mr. HOGGE

There was a question asked this afternoon about business, and we were asked if we would kindly postpone it until the Adjournment. The House at the moment is not in possession of any information with regard to business at all for next week. To-morrow is a private Member's day, and it is difficult under those circumstances to know exactly what Members will be asked to do next week. Presumably the absence of the Leader of he House and the fact that he is on his way from France to London explains why we were not able to get the business at 4 o'clock this afternoon. It may be, of course, that time will be required to provide for the discussion of the Peace terms if it is possible or necessary some day next week. It is also necessary that we should know as soon as possible which Supply is to be put down. On that point we have been asked to suggest some Supply for next week, and I take it that will be settled later on with the Patronage Secretary. I do not know whether he is at the moment in possession of the business or can make any suggestion at any rate for Monday.

Lord E. TALBOT

(Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury): Perhaps my hon. Friend will put his question as to business to the Leader of the House to-morrow at the opening of the Sitting.
