HC Deb 06 May 1919 vol 115 c756
79. Commander Viscount CURZON

asked the Postmaster-General if he has given directions that letters to ships of the Royal Navy stationed in home waters should be addressed in future to the ship to the port at which she is stationed or to which she is bound; and, if so, whether he will allow them to be addressed, Care of General Post Office, as an alternative, owing to the frequent impossibility and consequent delay of ascertaining the above facts?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

The answer to both parts of the question is in the affirmative, but the delivery of letters will be expedited if they are addressed to the port.
