HC Deb 06 May 1919 vol 115 cc737-8
40. Commander Viscount CURZON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Shipping Controller if he will issue a Return, giving full particulars in detail in each case of the loss of all ships in the Mercantile Marine during the War; and whether due to enemy action or to other causes?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of SHIPPING (Colonel L. Wilson)

The matter is one for the Admiralty and Board of Trade rather than for the Shipping Controller. I understand that these Departments are now considering the form in which particulars of the losses of merchant ships from all causes, during the War, can best be published.
