§ Dr. MACNAMARAThe War gratuities to officers of the permanent Naval Service still serving are not due until the prescribed terminating date of the qualifying war period has been reached. Mean while, of course, increments of war gratuity are being earned. In order, however, to meet special cases, the Board have approved of advances being made. On the prescribed terminating date being reached, the gratuities to officers serving will at once be paid, and the last part of the question does not, therefore, arise.
