§ 78. Major Sir B. FALLEasked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he is aware that certain naval officers have been placed on the retired list since 1914 and retained in their appointments and granted the 25 per cent, in addition to active service rate of pay; and if the same treatment should be meted out to all naval officers who have reached the compulsory age for retirement since 1914, such officers being placed on the retired list from the date of reaching the compulsory age and given the 25 per cent, and the emoluments to which they become entitled?
§ Dr. MACNAMARAThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, I can only say again that we are in discussion with the Treasury on the matter.
