Members asking that a Select Committee should be set up to consider and report upon what steps should be taken to relieve the present congested condition of transportation in the London area; and whether he can make any statement on this subject?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANIn view of the fact that a Bill to establish a Ministry of Ways and Communications is before the House, my right hon. Friend doubts whether it is desirable that a Select Committee should be set up to deal with one phase of the transportation question.
§ Lieutenant-Colonel ARCHER-SHEEIn view of the inadequacy of the reply and the importance of the question, I will raise the matter at an early date.
