§ Mr. CHURCHILLThe following figures show the number of recruits enlisted on normal engagements and the number of re-enlistments of men already serving, with the average daily rate:—
Number of recruits enlisted on normal attestations from 1st January to 15th March, 1919, is 8,986 Number of re-enlistments under Army Order IV. (i.e. for two, three, or four years) up to 15th March is 51,874 Total enlisted in sixty-three days is 60,860 or 935 per day. Between the 15th March and the 19th March (i.e. on the 16th, 17th, and 18th March) the number of re-enlistments was 3,297 or at a rate of over 1,000 per day.
