Mr. SUGDENasked the Postmaster General if he will at once make application to the Secretary of State for War for the services of all signal sections of the Royal Engineers stationed in Great Britain to assist his staff in the re-establishing of telephone communication in large industrial areas in the North of England, where for over two months such communication has been interrupted?
§ Mr. PIKE PEASEMilitary assistance has been extensively given to repair the damage due to snowstorms. The damage was very considerable and was not confined to the North of England. Every effort is being made to complete the repairs as soon as possible.
