HC Deb 19 March 1919 vol 113 cc2070-1
44. Mr. HAYDAY

asked the Secretary of State for War whether a soldier who was registered as a slip man before the 1st February last is entitled to demobilisation at once; and, if so, whether he will take action to secure the immediate release of all such men who are still being retained in the Army?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. With regard to the second part of the question, such as are eligible for demobilisation are being demobilised as the exigencies of the Service permit, but a "slip" man is not in any event entitled to immediate demobilisation.
