HC Deb 19 March 1919 vol 113 cc2074-5
19. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

asked whether any and, if so, what steps have been taken to give the inhabitants of London and the great provincial towns similar opportunities of showing their appreciation of the personnel of the Royal Navy to those that the Secretary of State for War has announced will be given in regard to the Army, beginning with the march through the Metropolis of the Guards on Saturday?

Mr. LONG

The matter has not been lost sight of, and is being considered at the present time.

Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

In view of the statement made by the Minister for War, is it not time that the First Lord of the Admiralty made a similar statement to this House?

Mr. LONG

I do not think it is. If I did I should make it. There are totally different circumstances which make it impossible for me to make a statement at this moment.
