HC Deb 19 March 1919 vol 113 c2069
37. Sir PETER GRIGGS

asked the Secretary of State for War when the 1914 and 1915 class of Volunteers in the 15th the King's Hussars and other regiments are to be demobilised; and whether these men are entitled to receive the 10s. 6d. bonus from the 1st February until they are demobilised?

Mr. CHURCHILL

Men who joined the Colours for continuous service in 1914 or 1915 are being demobilised as rapidly as the exigencies of the Service and transport facilities permit, and a considerable number have already been demobilised. Only such officers, warrant officers, non-commissioned officers and men as are definitely selected for retention for military service are entitled to receive the bonus from the 1st February. Such as are not specially selected for retention for military service, and have not been released by the 1st May, 1919, will receive bonus from that date. The bonus will not be issuable to members of the Non-Combatant Corps or to men employed on civil rates of pay as defined by the Army Council.
