41. Mr. GILBERT

asked the Secretary of State for War whether any further progress has been made as regards allowing relatives to visit the graves of our heroes in France and Belgium; has any Committee yet been set up in order to make suitable arrangements and, if so, who are its members; and can he give any approximate date as to when the first visits for this object can be made from this country?

Mr. CHURCHILL

As I stated yesterday the Report of the Committee set up to consider this matter has now been received, and is being considered, and I hope to be in a position to make an announcement shortly. The Committee was constituted as follows:—

Major-General Fabian Ware, C.B., C.M.G., Director-General of Graves Registration and Inquiries (Chairman).

Mr. F. Warren, Young Men's Christian Association (Secretary).

The following organisations were represented on the Committee:—

The British Red Cross Society.

Young Men's Christian Association.

Young Women's Christian Association.

Salvation Army.

Church Army.
