§ 54. Commander Viscount CURZONasked the Prime Minister whether he is prepared to consider the application through the Appointments Department of 1899 the Ministry of Labour of officers of the Royal Navy for the Governorships of Malta, Hong Kong, Gibraltar, and other naval bases?
§ Lieutenant-Colonel AMERYThe Governorships of Malta, Hong Kong, and Gibraltar are not at present vacant, and are not likely to be so for some years. As regards appointments to Governorships generally, I have no doubt that in submitting names to His Majesty the Secretary of State will give full consideration to the claims of naval officers.
