HC Deb 18 March 1919 vol 113 cc1899-900
49. Major COURTHOPE

asked the Prime Minister whether His Majesty's Government adheres to the decision announced in the House of Lords on 8th August, 1918, to the effect that it had accepted the Report of a Sub-committee of Ministers in favour of the proposals of Mr. Acland's Committee on Forestry, and that a central authority for afforestation for the United Kingdom will be set up and a policy of planting pursued with the least possible delay; and when the Bill will be introduced to establish the central forest authority?

Mr. BONAR LAW (Leader of the House)

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. I cannot yet name a date for the introduction of the Bill, which will not, however, be long delayed.
