HC Deb 13 March 1919 vol 113 cc1456-7
38. Mr. HURD

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether he has under consideration modifications in the building by-laws to allow of the use of soldiers' hutments for the housing of farm labourers generally, and particularly of soldier settlers on the land?

Mr. PRATT

The question of the application of by-laws and of any Statutory provisions affecting the erection of dwelling-houses of a temporary character is under consideration.

Mr. HURD

Would the hon. Gentleman consider the advisability of appointing a small Sub-committee to consider this matter with the advice, of the local authorities?

Mr. PRATT

I will put that to my right hon. Friend.
