HC Deb 13 March 1919 vol 113 cc1475-6
Major EDWARD WOOD (by Private Notice)

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will say what are the number of Australian, Canadian, and South African troops, respectively, who have been returned to their respective countries since the commencement of the Armistice?

Captain GUEST

I asked my hon. and gallant Friend to repeat this question, as I regret to say there were inaccuracies in. some of the figures in the answer given on Monday. It should also have been pointed out that the figures for Canada, Australia, and New Zealand included men in process of repatriation who have been evacuated from France and are en route viâ the United Kingdom, and that the South African total included men repatriated direct from East Africa to South Africa. The detailed figures are as follows:

117,110
