§ 91. Mr. RAMSDENasked the Food Controller whether he is aware of the difficulties of catering for school treats and similar functions, more especially at Whitsuntide, owing to the shortage of currants; and whether a special ration can be issued for this purpose?
§ Mr. McCURDYConsiderable quantities of currants have recently arrived in this country and are being distributed as rapidly as possible. I anticipate that before Whitsuntide there will be ample supplies of currants to meet all reasonable requirements; and I do not think that special rations need be issued for school-treats and similar functions, even if it were practicable to do so.
