HC Deb 12 March 1919 vol 113 c1323
Mr. ADAMSON

I desire to ask the Leader of the House if it is proposed that the House shall sit on Friday next, and, if so, what business is to be taken? I would also like to inquire if the right hon. Gentleman is yet in a position to make any statement regarding the giving of time for private Members' business?

Mr. BONAR LAW

Yes, Sir; the House will sit on Friday, and we shall hope to conclude the Bill which was discussed yesterday, and also the Civil Contingencies Bill and Report of some Votes. With regard to private Members' time, we have considered that question and have come to the conclusion that on Friday next week private Members' time may be restored to the House. A Motion to that effect will be moved on Monday next, and the terms of it will appear on the Paper to-morrow.

Sir H. DALZIEL

Will the time be allotted to Bills or to Resolutions?

Mr. BONAR LAW

There is to be no change in the practice, I understand. Fridays will be devoted to Bills. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, after next week, Resolutions may be taken.

Commander BELLAIRS

With regard to the Navy Estimate, as all the Votes are to go upstairs with the exception of Vote A, and as this Vote may be disposed of tonight, will some other opportunity of discussing naval questions be given?

Mr. BONAR LAW

It is, I understand, absolutely necessary to get this Vote today.

Commander BELLAIRS

Will there be another opportunity of discussing naval questions?

Mr. BONAR LAW

Certainly.
