Captain HACKINGasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether his attention has been drawn to the delay in paying to officers holding temporary commissions in the Army the gratuities or emergency pay under Article 497 of the Pay Warrant; whether he is aware of the inconvenience in consequence of this; and, in view of the fact that this money is usually required to purchase civilian clothes and tide over the change from military to civil life, he will endeavour to prevent any delay in his Department?
Captain GUESTI am not aware of any delay, but if my hon. and gallant Friend will give me particulars of any specific cases I will have them investigated.
