informed the House that he had received the following letters relating to the arrest and imprisonment of Members: Headquarters, Dublin District, Lower Castle Yard, Dublin, 6th March, 1919. SIR, I have the honour to report that on the 5th day of March, 1919, Mr. J. J. Walsh, M.P. for Cork City, was arrested under a direction issued by me, and committed to His Majesty's Prison, Mount joy, there to await his trial by court-martial for an offence against the Defence of the Realm Regulations.
