§ Note.—Prior to the War the Board made a free Grant of £50 towards the cost of houses erected on holdings provided for migrants. Since the War these free Grants have been increased to £70. The money contributed by the Board for the erection or improvement of houses on their estates is paid as free Grants, and advances which are repayable by the tenants on resale of their holdings as part of their purchase annuities. The annuity Under the Irish Land Act, 1903, is 3¼ per cent., and under the Irish Land Act, 1909, 3½ per cent.
