HC Deb 05 March 1919 vol 113 cc402-3
56. Mr. G. LOCKER-LAMPSON

asked the Prime Minister whether he will receive a deputation of women in respect of their grievances under the present Income Tax laws?

69. Major TRYON

asked whether the taxation of married women is to remain unchanged in principle until the Royal Commission on Income Tax has reported?

Mr. BALDWIN (Joint Financial Secretary to the Treasury)

It would not be possible to single out the question of the taxation of married women for consideration in advance of the findings of the Royal Commission. I hope that their case will be fully put before that Commission and in these circumstances my right hon. Friend does not think that he could usefully receive the deputation suggested by my hon. Friend at the present time.

Major TRYON

I beg to give notice that I will call attention to this question on the Adjournment of the House to-day.
