HC Deb 03 March 1919 vol 113 c13
13. Mr. RAPER

asked what balance is left in the hands of that Department from the war risks insurance funds and what use they propose to make of such balance; and whether this balance would be most useful in providing the basis of a national pension fund for merchant seamen?

It is proposed to lay before Parliament shortly an interim statement showing the approximate results of the various Government war risk insurance schemes. Any profits resulting from these schemes are paid into the National Exchequer.
