§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Dr. Macnamara)Pensions and retired pay are awarded and remain payable in respect of services in His Majesty's Naval or Marine Force, subject to such conditions and provisions as 36 are from time to time directed by Order in Council. Service pensions may most certainly be regarded as earned; but I am advised that they have never been regarded as deferred pay.
