HC Deb 03 March 1919 vol 113 c17
18. Mr. GILBERT

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has now received any reply from the Railway Executive Committee as to the opening of the London suburban railway stations closed during the War; and if he can make any statement as to what stations will be reopened and at what date?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

I understand from the Committee that the Railway Companies will deal with this matter as soon as they are in a position to do so. The stations on the Nunhead to Crystal Palace line of the South Eastern and Chatham Railway were, I understand, re-opened on the 1st March, but I cannot give dates of opening in any other cases. I am afraid that, as I indicated in reply to the hon. Gentleman's previous question on the subject, a general re-opening of stations would not be practicable at present.
