HC Deb 30 June 1919 vol 117 cc598-9
42. Mr. LAMBERT

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture if he has information of slaughter during the past year of cows, heifers, and calves which will endanger the future milk supply for England and Wales?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of AGRICULTURE (Sir Arthur Boscawen)

The information in our possession indicates that the number of cows (including heifers) is not less than a year ago, while calves are also about the same, and that there is accordingly no appearance of immediate danger to the milk supply from a reduction of stock.
