HC Deb 04 June 1919 vol 116 cc2014-5
91. Mr. C. WHITE

asked the Secretary of State for War how many men, apart from commissioned officers, are now serving in the Army?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The number on the 21st May was 1,320,000. May I add that I am very much obliged to hon. Members who have postponed these questions. Yesterday, being the King's birthday, was observed to a certain extent as a holiday in the Government Departments.
