81. Mr. J. JONESasked the Minister of Health whether he has received a resolution from the Operative Bricklayers' Society repudiating the allegation that the present high cost of building is due entirely to the restrictive methods of the operatives, and demanding that an Inquiry be set up, with terms of reference sufficiently wide to make a full investigation into the real cause; and whether he will consider the advisability of setting up such an Inquiry?
§ Major ASTORMy right hon. Friend has received the resolution to which the hon. Member refers. I do not think that the high cost of building can be ascribed to any single cause, and I am doubtful whether the object desired could be attained by the appointment of a Commission of Inquiry.
