asked the Prime Minister whether any decision has been come to with regard to the disposition of the island of Cyprus?

Mr. BONAR LAW

No decison has been taken in this matter.

Captain ORMSBY-GORE

Has the right hon. Gentleman seen the report in the papers that it has been decided to cede Cyprus, and will he take steps to contradict that statement?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I think that it has already been contradicted. It is right to say nothing so important as that would be done by the Government in such a way as to commit us in any way without the knowledge of the House of Commons?

And without the consent of the House of Commons?

Mr. BONAR LAW

Yes.
