asked the Prime Minister whether the Cabinet had laid down the principles upon which the deflation of the currency would be dealt with; and, if so, what these principles were?

The principles which His Majesty's Government propose to adopt are those outlined in the answer given to the hon. and gallant Member on Monday by the Financial Secretary to the Treasury.

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider the advisability of appointing a small expert Committee to look into this question?

Yes. I have seen the suggestion made by the Noble Lord. I think the work is being done by a Currency Committee.
