HC Deb 29 July 1919 vol 118 c1908
4. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any information to the effect that peace negotiations have been taking place between the Russian Soviet Government and the Royal Roumanian Government; whether an eight-day armistice has been agreed upon and whether peace between Roumania and the Russian Soviet Government will bring about any change in the Allied policy towards Russia?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

As regards the first and second parts of the hon. and gallant Member's question, my attention has been drawn to reports circulated through the German wireless, that a Russian Bolshevist delegation had made an offer to the Roumanian troops on the Dniester front, but according to a further report received from Vienna the negotiations have been broken off. I have no confirmation of these reports. The third part of the question clues not accordingly arise.
