HC Deb 29 July 1919 vol 118 cc1910-1
6. Mr. JOYNSON-HICKS

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that several officers of the Army of the Rhine have purchased small German motor cars in ignorance of the restrictions on their importation here; and whether he, will be prepared to grant licences for such import?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Bridge-man)

I have been asked to reply to this question. As no import licences are given for German motor cars, my right hon. Friend is not prepared to authorise the admission of these cars. I am communicating with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for War, so that officers can be notified of the Regulations.
